About Us


Coquina Water Control District (CWCD) is a special district that was established on June 23, 1971. The District is organized & exists pursuant to Chapter 189 & Chapter 298, Florida Statutes, as amended & supplemented, and other applicable provisions of law, for the purpose of preserving all drains and other systems constructed; operating and maintaining equipment, canals, drainage systems, and other works of the District, including the maintenance of certain roads and any other duties directed by the Board of Supervisors. 


The mission of CWCD is to implement the provisions of Chapter 298 in a manner that ensures proper water management within the boundaries of the district and to operate with a continued commitment to education and outreach to its residents & landowners.
